How to Play Teotihuacan: City of Gods – Promo Bundle

Objective of the Game

In Teotihuacan: City of Gods – Promo Bundle, players compete to contribute to the construction of the Pyramid and gain the favor of the gods. The game ends after a set number of rounds, and the player with the most Victory Points wins. Consult the manual for details on this section.

Preparation (Setup)

Add the Royal tiles and Technology tiles from the Promo Bundle to those in the base game. Place the Construct (8) Action Board alongside other action boards. Each player starts with their workers and resources as per the base game rules. Consult the manual for details on this section.

Flow of the Game

Players take turns moving their workers clockwise around the action boards. During a normal turn, workers can move 1 additional space. When taking a normal turn, you may advance your worker by 1, 2, 3, or 4 Action spaces. Consult the manual for details on this section.

Actions and How to Play

Pyramid Construction

You may add tiles to the Pyramid based on the power of your locked worker:

• Add 1 tile if the locked worker has a power of 1, 2, or 3.
• Add 2 tiles if the locked worker has a power of 4 or 5.

Follow normal rules for cost, placement, scoring, and temple effects related to the number of locked workers.

Technology Tiles

When covering a generic icon on a tile, you may choose any one temple of your choice for scoring purposes. The covered icon symbol counts as a generic icon ( ).

4th Worker

Gain your 4th worker with a power of 3. All four of your workers must be placed on different Action Boards, if possible. Gain 5 cocoa when acquiring this worker.

End of Game and Scoring

Score 2 Victory Points for whichever is lower: the number of locked workers you have (including this one) or the power of the locked worker. Additional scoring may occur from temple rewards and other in-game actions. Consult the manual for details on this section.

Tips to Win

• Manage worker power: Locking higher-power workers allows you to add more tiles to the Pyramid, but balance this with the number of locked workers for optimal scoring.
• Utilize your 4th worker early: The additional worker and cocoa can provide flexibility and resources for future actions.
• Plan tile placement: When covering icons, choose temples that align with your strategy to maximize Victory Points.
