Objective of the Game
In Terrorscape: Amorphous Peril, players are thrust into the aftermath of an unethical archaeogenetics experiment gone wrong. A carnivorous plant has sprouted within a research laboratory, spreading its tentacles throughout the facility. Survivors must navigate the Laboratory map to survive the onslaught of the Killer, while the Killer—either the Strangler or the Unidentified—aims to eliminate them. Victory is determined by the specific win conditions of the base game, with the Killer attempting to hunt the Survivors and the Survivors attempting to escape or survive the encounter.
Preparation (Setup)
To set up the Laboratory map, follow these steps:
- Map Selection: Choose the Laboratory map.
- First-aid Cabinet: At the end of setup, Survivors place the first-aid cabinet on G3 Medical Room.
- Blocked Doors: Place a block token on the door between B1 Main Laboratory and B4 Generator Room.
- Killer Setup (Strangler): Place 1 core token in the Strangler's starting location. Keep 4 core tokens near the map for use.
- Killer Setup (Unidentified): Place the 2 locked skill cards and 4 evolve cards near the map, ready for use.
- Communication: Whenever a core token is placed, moved, or removed, the player must immediately inform the opposing team to update their map accordingly.
Flow of the Game
The game progresses through alternating turns between the Survivors and the Killer. During the Survivors' turns, they may perform actions such as moving or interacting with the environment. During the Killer's turn, the Killer utilizes their Killer's skill cards and unique abilities to hunt the Survivors. Specific map events, such as placing a noise token when moving into R4 Sterile Room, occur during the Survivors' turn. The Unidentified evolves at levels 2, 3, and 4, unlocking new abilities that must be communicated to the Survivors.
Actions and How to Play
Players have access to various special actions based on their role and the map:
- [HEAL] (Survivors): If the first-aid cabinet is in the Sterile Room, a Survivor can perform this special action to remove all fear from a Survivor in that location, then remove the cabinet. Survivors do not have to disclose what they used to [HEAL].
- Core Token Interaction (Strangler): The Strangler may place a core token using skills. If 5 core tokens are already on the map, the Strangler may remove 1 to place it elsewhere. Survivors may remove 1 core token in their current location as a special action.
- Telesynthesis (Strangler): When the Strangler teleports, place the miniature in the destination and inform the Survivors. Core tokens can move through block tokens without removing them.
- Evolution (Unidentified): At levels 2 and 4, the Unidentified chooses 1 evolve card to unlock and places it on the Killer's board. At level 3, the Unidentified unlocks 1 locked skill.
- Removing Cards (Unidentified): Using Combat Adaptation or Metamorphosis, the Killer can permanently remove cards from the discard pile. These are placed face down beside the level and strength tracker and are not reshuffled.

- Strategic Evolution: As the Unidentified, carefully choose which evolve cards to unlock based on the current state of the game, as these provide critical new abilities.
- Core Management: As the Strangler, utilize core tokens to exert pressure across the map, remembering that they can bypass block tokens, allowing for unexpected movement or attacks.
- Resource Awareness: Survivors should prioritize the first-aid cabinet in the Medical Room to manage fear, but be mindful that it is a one-time use item.
