Prepare to set sail in "The Kraken," a 1538 maritime adventure that throws you straight into the 16th-century Dutch Empire! The crown needs new trade routes, and that's where you come in, with the fate of the empire in your hands. Your mission? Explore the seas, chart new territories, and perhaps find fabulous treasures. But beware, sailor! The ocean is a treacherous place, full of dangers and, of course, the fearsome Kraken lurking beneath the waves. This game is pure adventure and decision-making: you need to accumulate the most stars (victory points) using the fewest moves possible. It features three independent adventures, each set in a different year (1538, 1542, and 1548), in a print-and-play format, meaning you print and assemble it yourself. To move across the map, luck is in the dice! Roll the dice and use the result to advance through cells, as indicated on the navigation bar. If you land on a question mark '?', prepare for a random event that could change everything. Keep an eye out for Krakens, fish, and ships scattered across the map; they have their own damage values and hit points. When you encounter one, get ready for a battle decided by dice rolls. And if a star is in a red square, a guardian boss awaits you – defeat them first, then claim the glory! "The Kraken" is a quick game, with sessions lasting between 20 and 40 minutes, ideal for 1 to 3 players who enjoy a strategic challenge with a touch of luck and an engaging theme. With low-ink and color versions available, and in multiple languages, the adventure is accessible to all.
