About the game

What you do in a play session

Get your timers ready, because Dr. Faux is back, and this time he didn't come alone. The first expansion for The LOOP brings colossal chaos with the arrival of Fauxzilla, a giant monster threatening to turn the fabric of space-time into his own personal playground of destruction. If you thought saving the universe was hard before, try doing it while dodging a furious Kaiju!

To tackle this new nightmare, the Agency had to recruit some heavy hitters. You can now play as Faux Klein Schlag — essentially a younger version of Dr. Faux determined to prove he's better than his future self — and the Peak Twins, the most feared pair of enforcers from the Middle Ages. Beyond the new agents, the expansion injects more adrenaline with new artifacts and sabotage tiles that give your strategy a much-needed upgrade.

The real stars here are the two new game modes that shift the table's dynamics. In 'Fauxzillapocalypse', the race against time is literal: you'll need to charge and trigger powerful energy traps at the exact right moment to take down the beast. In 'The 7 Kaiju Balls', the objective is more tactical: you must hunt for Fauxzilla's eggs across different eras and seal them properly to prevent the disaster from multiplying, all while trying not to get crushed in the process.

Whether you're building combos with new equipment or coordinating your team to survive the monster's rampage, this expansion significantly increases the replayability of the base game. It's the perfect dose of chaos and strategy for those who have already mastered the timelines and are looking for an extra challenge. Just a reminder: you'll need the base game of The LOOP to put this monster back in its place!

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

5 questions
Can I play this expansion standalone?
No, it is dependent on The LOOP base game. You need the original components and rules to play.
Does it make the game much harder?
The new game modes introduce different challenges and require more coordination, but the difficulty curve is fair for those familiar with the rules.
What are the main additions?
Two new characters (Faux Klein Schlag and the Peak Twins), two new game modes (Fauxzillapocalypse and The 7 Kaiju Balls), and new artifacts.
Does it increase the playtime?
Average playtime stays around 50-75 minutes, though the flow changes depending on the chosen game mode.
Is it recommended for beginners?
I suggest playing a few games of the base version first to grasp the time mechanics before adding Fauxzilla's chaos.
