Objective of the Game
In this expansion, the Wild Hunt arrives with its crew to assist the Generals. The Wild Hunt uses the Naglfar—a demonic vessel built from the fingernails and toenails of the dead—to travel through dimensions. Players must navigate the challenges brought by the Wild Hunt and the Naglfar ship to succeed.
Setup
Follow the standard Wild Hunt expansion setup rules, with these specific additions:
- Place the Naglfar Miniature next to the Generals playmat.
- Shuffle the 4 Broken Sextant cards and remove one from the game. Place the remaining cards face-down in a pile next to the Generals playmat.
Note for Legendary Monster Mode: If playing against the Wild Hunt in co-op mode, follow the Legendary Monsters expansion setup rules with these changes:
- Place the Wild Hunt Legendary Monster cards on the playmat.
- Shuffle the 4 Naglfar cards and remove one from the game. Place the rest face-down in a pile next to the playmat and reveal the top card.
Game Flow
The game follows the standard structure, but includes specific mechanics for the Wild Hunt and Naglfar:
The Wild Hunt Step
After the General's movement and resolving its effects, the Wild Hunt moves Naglfar. The Wild Hunt Player checks the color of the last card in their Timeline and moves the Naglfar Miniature to the corresponding Threat track, placing it on the banner above the topmost space.
Strategic Withdrawal: If Players attempt to Defeat a General that is protected by Naglfar, the General cannot be Defeated (it stays on the same space). Instead, Heroes draw the topmost Broken Sextant card and must resolve one of its effects: either discard it for its immediate effect or keep it in play for its permanent effect.
Naglfar Mechanics
When the Wild Hunt moves to an occupied spot, the Player suffers 1 Wound and places the Naglfar Miniature on their board to mark they are being followed by Phantom Riders.
During the After Playing cards Step, the Player with Naglfar on their board checks the last 2 cards in their Timeline:
- If the colors match the Naglfar card, the Player removes Naglfar from their board.
- If the colors do not match, the Player must resolve the effect of the Naglfar card.
Actions and How to Play
The Wild Hunt and Naglfar introduce several specific mechanics and restrictions:
Naglfar Protection
When Naglfar is present on a Threat track, it protects the corresponding General:
- Heroes cannot Defeat the General (they cannot move him down or draw his Weakness card).
- The Wild Hunt cannot gain bonuses from that Banner.
Wild Hunt Movement Restrictions
During the Advancement Step, the following rules apply to the Wild Hunt:
- The Wild Hunt cannot move Generals with multicolor cards.
- The Wild Hunt cannot move the same General more than once (though Wild Hunt Abilities are unaffected by this).
Broken Sextant Cards
These cards are drawn when a General is protected by Naglfar. They can be used for an immediate effect (discard) or a permanent effect (keep in play). Once the last Broken Sextant card is drawn and resolved, remove the Naglfar Miniature from the game.

Tips for Winning
- Manage your Timeline: Since the Naglfar effect is triggered by checking the last 2 cards in your Timeline, be mindful of the colors you play to avoid negative effects.
- Strategic Use of Broken Sextants: When facing a protected General, decide whether to use a Broken Sextant card for its immediate effect or to secure a permanent effect to help your long-term strategy.
