Objective of the Game

In this expansion for Vinhos Deluxe Edition, you are expanding your winery's influence by utilizing specialized Wine Expert tiles. Your goal is to leverage these experts to optimize your production, sales, and prestige to ultimately achieve the highest score through various strategic actions and benefits.

Setup

The setup for the Experts Expansion Pack depends on which variant you choose to play:

• Fun Variant: For each wine feature, shuffle all available Wine Expert tiles of that type and create a deck of 7 tiles. Return the remaining tiles to the box. This creates imbalanced decks and higher variability.
• Balanced Variant: Select an arbitrary wine feature and shuffle all Wine Expert tiles of that type to create a deck of 7. Once these 7 experts are chosen, create 3 additional decks (one for each remaining feature) containing those same 7 experts. Shuffle each deck and place them in their proper spaces on the gameboard.
• Controlled Variant: Choose exactly which 7 Wine Experts you want in the game and use those same 7 for every deck. Shuffle each deck and place them in their proper spaces on the gameboard.

Note: These tiles are added to the existing tiles from the base game (2010 Reserve or Special Vintage 2016).

Game Flow

The game follows the standard rules of the base game. The Experts Expansion Pack adds new mechanics to existing phases or introduces new tiles to be used during specific stages. For example, in the Special Vintage 2016 version, the Advertisers tile is used exclusively during the Buy Magnates Tiles phase at the end of the fair.

Actions and How to Play

The expansion introduces several new Wine Expert tiles, each providing a unique benefit when used:

• The Advertisers: Allows you to use a Magnate benefit (2010R) or take a Magnate Action tile (SV2016) without spending a Wine.
• The Marketers: Each barrel exported during an Export Action is worth +1 VP.
• The Salesmen: Each barrel sold in a Sales Action earns you +1 Bago.
• The Spies: Allows you to use an opponent’s Wine Expert tile (the opponent’s tile remains face-up).
• The Meteorologists: Allows you to secretly check the next Vintage tile.
• The Reviewers: Advance 2 fair points on the fair track.
• The Estate Managers: Move one Winery from one Estate to another.
• The Public Relations: Return this Wine Expert to the bottom of the appropriate deck and take a Wine Expert tile from the top of any deck.
