About the game

What you do in a play session

Vitruvius is that perfect mix of strategy and just-a-little-bit-of-sweaty-palms tension. You're an apprentice architect in Ancient Rome, competing to impress master Vitruvius by building structures that are stable, useful, and beautiful. It starts simple: column, capital, and architrave - the three basic components of classical architecture. But here's the catch: each new level must not only follow composition rules but also not topple like a house of cards! Each turn, you place one mandatory piece and choose one extra action from five options - from stacking another piece to repositioning components or buying project cards. Completing projects scores points, but watch out: if your structure collapses, everyone advances on the scoring track while you're left with rubble. The game ends when someone hits the target score (which varies by player count) or when you simply can't build anything without causing architectural disaster. Get ready to balance strategy, luck, and just a hint of hand tremors!

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

6 questions
Is Vitruvius hard to learn?
Not at all! Basic rules are simple (column + capital + architrave), but strategy deepens as structures grow taller.
Ideal player count?
Best with 3-4 for more interaction, but 2-player mode is also fun and more strategic.
Are components good quality?
Yes! The 3D pieces are sturdy with good finish - crucial for a balancing game.
Can kids play?
From age 10 depending on motor skills. Teens will enjoy the strategic challenge more.
How long does a game last?
30-40 minutes depending on player count and how often structures collapse (and they will collapse!).
Is it just a stacking game?
No! There's hand management, action selection and project planning - stacking is just part of the fun.
