Game Objective
Western Legends: The Good, the Bad, and the Handsome is an expansion that adds three new characters to the base game, along with new story cards and legendary items. The main objective remains the same: players aim to become the legend of the Old West by accumulating Legend Points (LP) through various actions and achievements.
Refer to the manual for details on this section.
Setup
To play with this expansion, the setup is similar to the base game, with the following additions:
- Shuffle the new characters with the others and deal two to each player.
- Shuffle the new story cards with the existing ones.
- Place the legendary items face down in the General Store holder.
Game Flow
The game flow follows the same rules as the base game, with the addition of the new story cards and legendary items. Refer to the manual for details on this section.
Actions and How to Play
This expansion introduces new story cards with a special condition: Start a Fight with Another Player. To contribute to these cards, players do not need to win the fight, only initiate it.
Some story cards reward players with legendary items. When gaining a legendary item, the player draws one randomly (face down) from the General Store. If a player contributes more than one disk to a card that grants a legendary item, they still only receive one item.
Legendary items can be mounts, weapons, or miscellaneous items, following the same rules as common items, except that legendary mounts and weapons cannot be upgraded. Some legendary items grant LP at the end of the game, similar to upgraded items. If a player already has three miscellaneous items and gains a legendary item, they may discard an existing item to free up space. Discarded items return to the General Store.
End of Game and Scoring
The game ends when a player reaches or exceeds the defined Legend Points (LP) limit. Legendary items may grant additional LP at the end of the game, depending on their specific rules. Refer to the manual for details on this section.
Tips for Winning
- Take advantage of the new story cards: Starting fights with other players can be an effective way to contribute to the cards and earn rewards, even without winning the fight.
- Manage your items: Legendary items can provide a significant advantage, but remember that you can only have three miscellaneous items. Discard the less useful ones to make room.
- Focus on character objectives: Each character has four specific objective cards. Prioritize completing them to earn extra LP.
