Imagine you're a kitten wizard apprentice. Everything was going great until you and your classmates decided to sneak a peek at the library's restricted section and, oops, accidentally unleashed several dangerous curses! Now, the mission is to clean up the mess and defeat these curses before the dreaded Professor Whispurr catches everyone red-handed. The catch? While you must work together to take down the curses, every kitten secretly wants to be the top of the class.
The game plays as a semi-cooperative card game. Each turn, you must decide which spell to cast. The options are diverse: you can draw extra cards to beef up your hand, sling cards at your opponents to mess with them, discard cards from your own play area, or even swap cards between players. There's just one rule: you cannot cast the same spell two turns in a row, so you'll need to plan your sequence carefully to avoid getting stuck.
The tension ramps up as the ritual component deck dwindles. The game ends in one of two ways: either you defeat the sixth and final curse, or the Professor Whispurr card is drawn, and then things get stressful. If you successfully defeat the curses, the winner is the one with the highest score, including bonuses from secret 'Extra Credit' objective cards. However, if the Professor catches you, the 'Cleanest Paws Clause' kicks in: anyone with 10 or more points is eliminated for being too 'messy,' and among the survivors, the kitten with the fewest cards in their play area wins. It's the kind of game where cooperation is necessary, but mischief and cunning are the real tools for ultimate victory.
