About the game

What you do in a play session

Embark on an epic adventure at sea in "(Your Name Here) and the Argonauts"! You'll step into the sandals of a Greek mythology hero, setting out to recover legendary treasures, slay fearsome monsters, and etch your name into the annals of retold myths. The game kicks off with a deck of 30 cards, representing the challenges and rewards you'll encounter. The coolest part? This deck and your character evolve with every playthrough! Think about how stories get more embellished each time they're told – this game captures that essence. Each turn, you'll flip over three cards. These could be monsters eager to gobble you up, treasures waiting to be claimed, or even the fickle favor (or disfavor) of the gods. Your task is to strategically assign your crew members to each card. Then, it's time to roll the dice to see who triumphs. More crew on a card means a better chance of success, whether it's defeating a beast or securing a prize. Fail the roll? Well, treasures slip through your fingers, and monsters might send your crew to the underworld. If your entire crew perishes, you're not far behind. But if you survive and exhaust the deck, your adventure concludes in victory! And the best part: the saga continues! Each win makes the deck "more legendary." Cards you've overcome might become tougher, or treasures could lose their luster. Some monsters even introduce reinforcements into your deck! To keep pace, you can level up your hero, starting future games with a larger crew and adding new items. It's a solo game, featuring a "push your luck" element and a legacy system that will have you hooked for subsequent plays.
