About the game
What you do in a play session
Zombicide: Black Plague – Bob and Montalban adds two fresh survivors to the medieval zombie campaign, complete with detailed miniatures and identity cards. Sir Montalban isn’t the bravest knight, but he wields his sword like a pro and excels at carving a way out of tight spots. He earned his title in peaceful times, guarding the castle, yet when the plague turned the dead into ravenous hordes, his blade skills became essential. Bob, on the other hand, is a wizard with limited magical power but plenty of theatrical flair. He learned sleight‑of‑hand tricks and, when traditional magic fails, resorts to small fire spells that work wonders against zombies—provided they aren’t marching toward crucial spots like the church or the haystack. The expansion retains Black Plague’s core mechanics: action points to allocate among movement, attacks and abilities, dice rolls to resolve combat, a modular board that reshapes each mission, and variable player powers giving each survivor a distinct role. The game stays cooperative, demanding that players plan routes, share resources and protect strategic areas while battling ever‑growing waves. Components include painted miniatures, survivor cards, equipment tokens and scenario tiles that snap together like a puzzle. Suitable for 1‑6 players, a session typically lasts 60‑120 minutes depending on difficulty. While the system’s complexity remains medium, the new options add tactical depth that will please both veterans and newcomers looking to dive into a grim medieval world overrun by the undead.
