About the game

What you do in a play session

If you've already mastered Age of Steam and are looking for a new challenge on the rails, Expansion #3 brings two brand-new maps to spice up your games: Scandinavia and Korea. Each comes with its own unique twists that will test your logistics and investment strategies.

On the Scandinavia map, the novelty lies in the sea routes, which open up new transportation possibilities between coastal cities. To top it off, the "Ferry" action allows you to move goods (and maybe your trains!) across these waters, adding an extra layer of planning and optimization. Prepare for longer routes and crucial decisions about where to invest your resources.

The Korea map, on the other hand, features a very different demand system. Forget cities with fixed demands! Here, the demand for a product only appears when the corresponding cubes are present in the city. As soon as you deliver what was requested and the colors disappear, the demand in that city vanishes. This requires constant monitoring of the board and rapid adaptation to changes, making each game a race against time and your opponents to satisfy emerging demands before they disappear.

This expansion is perfect for those who love the complexity and depth of Age of Steam and want more scenario variety. The new maps offer distinct challenges that require new tactical approaches, keeping the game fresh and exciting for veterans. With additional rules focused on maritime transport and a dynamic demand system, Age of Steam Expansion #3 guarantees hours of strategic fun for groups who aren't afraid of a good economic and logistical challenge.
