About the game
Looking for a quick card game to squeeze between heavier titles? Alphabet War is exactly that kind of fast-paced fun! The goal is straightforward: empty your hand as quickly as possible. But don't think it's just about playing cards and you're done; the center of the table is a constant battlefield of letters. On each turn, you get up to three actions to manipulate the word currently on the table. You can add a letter, remove one, replace an existing one, or even rearrange the order of the letters already present. The trick is to successfully form a valid word (ranging from 3 to 7 letters, depending on the current rule) so you can discard your cards. If you get stuck and can't make a valid move, fate is cruel: you'll have to draw cards until you can. To spice things up and add a layer of competition, there are punctuation cards that act like 'weapons': they allow you to skip a player's turn, reverse the play order, or even attack your opponents. It's a game of mental agility and observation, where a single letter changed at the perfect moment can ruin everyone's plans. It's perfect for anyone who loves a vocabulary challenge that doesn't require a 50-page manual but does require you to stay sharp while trying not to end up with a hand full of useless letters!
