How to Play Amerigo Queenie 1: Volcanic Island

Game Objective

Preparation (Setup)

Expansion 1

• When forming the island zone, place the volcano island tile in the central zone.
• Shuffle the gold tokens face down and place one face down token on each gold space of the island, leaving the sixth token in the box without being revealed.

Expansion 2

• Players who prefer many small islands should use the cove island tile when forming the island zone.
• Players who prefer one large island should use the bay island tile when forming the island zone.
• During setup, shuffle these progress tiles with the rest of the base game tiles.

Expansion 3

• Place the 4 production building tiles and the 5 special production tokens next to the neutral settlement tiles.

Actions and How to Play

Expansion 1

• If a player builds on the volcano island on a gold space, they flip the gold token, reveal the number, and advance their disc that number of spaces on their gold track. Then, they remove the token from the game.

Expansion 2

• When performing the red action: Planning, the player may acquire a production building instead of a neutral settlement tile.
• When the player builds a production building on an island using the green action: Expansion, they choose one of the still available special production tokens and place it on their personal board.
• These special tokens are treated like the rest of the production tokens during final scoring.
• The owner of a special production token may once ignore pirates during the scoring phase at the end of a round and, therefore, will not lose cannons or victory points.
• Instead of performing an action, the owner of a special production token will once gain 1 gold for each cube in the action space, instead of 1 gold for every 3 cubes.
• The owner of a special production token may once choose the type of action (the color) they wish when performing the special action (white action), regardless of the space their token is on in the special actions track.
• At the end of a phase, the owner of a special production token may once perform a second action, which must be different from the action they already performed during this phase. They can take gold instead of taking an action (unless they had already taken gold in the previous action).
• After performing their action and once, the owner of a special production token may advance each of their discs 2 spaces on the progress, cannons, and special actions tracks.

End of Game and Scoring

Expansion 2

• During final scoring, the owner of a special production token will decide what type of commodity the production token corresponds to, placing it with the rest of the tokens of that type they already possess.
• The special production tokens are treated like the rest of the production tokens during final scoring.
