About the game
What you do in a play session
If you feel like your space station is getting a bit too quiet, grab your spacesuit because the ambassadors have arrived! Among the Stars: The Ambassadors is the expansion designed to inject a layer of diplomacy and strategic depth into the-already intense space-faring action of the base game. The star of the show is the introduction of a brand-new fourth action: inviting ambassadors from various races to join your council. These aren't just-flavor-text-only-NPCs, though; each ambassador comes with unique-to-their-race abilities that can significantly shift your tactical approach.
However, space-time and-space-room are both limited. Your council has fixed slots, meaning every ambassador you invite is a calculated risk and a commitment of resources. You'll need to decide whether a specific-ability is worth the slot, or if you should pass on a powerful-looking-alien to save room for a future-focused-diplomat. Beyond the-ambassadors-themselves, this expansion is a massive content drop. You're looking at over 150 new cards, including more than twenty new locations and fresh objectives to chase. It even introduces a brand-new alien race to even out the galactic playing field.
For those-who-love-variety, the expansion includes new Conflict sets. Instead of mixing them with the old ones, you can swap them out entirely to refresh the-gameplay-loop. And for the larger-than-life-groups, it includes rules and components to expand the player count up to 5 or 6 players. It's the ultimate way to breathe new life into your-space-adventures, offering more-decision-making-points and much more replayability for anyone who has-already-mastered the base game.
