About the game

What you do in a play session

Prepare to dive even deeper into the Arcs universe with the Lost Vaults & Fated Leaders expansion! The Founders left behind riddles and wisdom, and now it's up to us to unravel them. This expansion brings a wealth of new content, including new Fated Leaders, each with special pieces that uniquely alter the game's core rules, like distilled versions of their campaign counterparts. Want a divine assist? As God's Hand, you can wield a new suit of action cards, the Faithful. Or, if you prefer to be the Firebrand, you can offer a new way of seizing the initiative. These leaders are highly compatible with the existing pool and work well in both competitive and casual play. The game setup has also become more engaging, allowing for a completely new map each time you play, featuring the new 'Lost Vaults.' These vast edifices, silently floating for generations, can be activated to gain tactical advantages. Use the Bastion to defend a critical system, take the Stone Road to previously inaccessible planets, or explore the Ruins in search of powerful artifacts. And for those who enjoy the chaos of five-player games, this expansion adds a new type of action card to help navigate the match. Plus, there's a whole new court deck with never-before-seen cards, set to shake up your strategies!

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

6 questions
Does this expansion work on its own, or do I need the base Arcs game?
You definitely need the base Arcs game to use this expansion. It adds content to the main game; it's not a standalone product.
How many players does this expansion support?
The base Arcs game is for 2-5 players. This expansion is designed to enhance the experience, especially for 5 players, and introduces new options that work well with the original player count.
What's the estimated playtime with this expansion?
The exact playtime can vary significantly based on the number of players and familiarity with the new rules. Expect playtime to be similar to or slightly longer than the base game, perhaps between 90 to 150 minutes, but the focus is on replayability and new strategies.
Does the game's complexity increase significantly with this expansion?
Yes, the expansion introduces new mechanics and cards that add strategic layers. If you're looking for more depth and don't mind a bit more complexity, you'll enjoy it. For newcomers, it might be a slightly bigger step.
What kind of new components are included in the box?
The expansion includes new Fated Leaders with exclusive pieces, new action cards (including the Faithful suit), a new type of action card for 5 players, cards for a new court deck, and components for the 'Lost Vaults' that alter the map.
Is this expansion good for casual Arcs players?
Yes! While it adds new strategies and complexity, the new leaders and Lost Vaults can be integrated in ways that appeal to both those seeking a more tactical game and those simply wanting to vary the experience in a fun way.
