About the game
What you do in a play session
Kingsport Horror is the expansion that transports Arkham Horror to the grim coastal town of Kingsport, Massachusetts. The box adds a dedicated board depicting the town's streets and harbor, eight new investigators each with unique abilities, four new Ancient Ones distinct from the originals, two Heralds that can hinder (or occasionally aid) the investigators, and three Guardians – benevolent counterparts to the Heralds. It also brings dozens of new event cards, monsters, and components that broaden the cooperative experience. The goal remains the same: stop the chosen Ancient from awakening, but now players must contend with sea‑borne creatures and cultists emerging from Kingsport's fog. Core mechanics – cooperation, dice rolling, and hand management – stay intact, while the expansion introduces new test types and scenario‑specific challenges. Playtime ranges from two to four hours, depending on player count (2‑8) and mission complexity. Difficulty can be tuned with various Ancient levels and Herald options, catering to both newcomers and veterans. Components are high‑quality, with artwork that captures Kingsport's gothic atmosphere, and the Portuguese translation is complete, though it assumes some familiarity with RPG terminology. In short, Kingsport Horror expands the Arkham Horror universe with fresh narrative, more character choices, and an extra layer of challenge that will please fans of the base game as well as those seeking a richer experience.
