Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you buy
Do I need the Arkham Horror: The Card Game core set to play?
Yes, absolutely! "Carnevale of Horrors" is a standalone scenario, but it uses the rules and components of the core set, so it's essential to play.
How many players can play?
The scenario is designed for 1 to 4 players, so you can enjoy it solo or with your group of investigators.
How long does it take to play?
Typically, a game session lasts between 60 and 120 minutes, depending on the number of players and how quickly you unravel the mysteries.
Is it a campaign or a one-off adventure?
It can be played as a standalone adventure or integrated as a side quest into any campaign you are currently playing.
What comes in the pack besides the scenario cards?
In addition to the scenario, act, location, and encounter cards, the pack includes five player cards (one ally and four Mask assets) that can be used in future campaigns.
Is the game very difficult?
The BGG weight of 3.58/5 indicates a moderate to high difficulty. The complexity and challenge come from the need to manage resources, make quick decisions, and deal with uncertainty in a hostile environment.
Do I need to be able to read English to play?
Yes, the game has a high language dependency. All text on the cards needs to be understood to play correctly, so a good level of English is recommended.
