Get ready for a roguelike adventure for 1 to 4 players, where you and your friends form a party of unique heroes to face perils in a three-act campaign full of dry humor, deadly encounters, and intense tactical battles. Each act is divided into two phases: Adventure and Battle. In the Adventure phase, you explore a procedurally generated map, uncovering secret areas, visiting strange locations, and managing your limited time to collect powerful items and synergistic abilities. Calculated risks are rewarded, but lack of preparation can be costly. Combat in Doomrock is gridless and dice-driven, focusing on initiative, positioning, ability synergy, and minimal output randomness. You roll and assign dice to your ability cards, activating combos and reacting to enemy AI, utilizing mechanics like Provoke, Stealth, Activation Cubes, and even pets. This edition integrates all content from previous expansions and introduces a revamped battle system with enemy activation decks, custom dice, poker chips, a redesigned campaign structure and rulebook (v4.0), plus new heroes, pets, secret areas, and modular expansions. Replayability is a strong point, with scenarios generated from a vast amount of cards, ensuring each journey is unique. Victory is achieved by defeating the Act III boss at Doomrock, but defeat can come swiftly through time mismanagement, poor coordination, or simply being unprepared for what awaits in the next ominous mountain pass.
