Game Objective

In Athos Bulcão | Master Pieces, players take on the role of disciples of the artist Athos Bulcão, competing to recreate his masterpieces on a Mural. The objective is to accumulate Academic Prestige Points by forming patterns with Tiles, following the Contract Cards. The game ends when the last Tile from the Fundathos Board is acquired, and the winner is the player with the most points at the end.

Preparation (Setup)

1. Place the Main Board (Mural) in the center and the Fundathos Board next to it.
2. Fill the Fundathos Board with Tile Cubes randomly.
3. Each player receives a Studio, Scoring Marker, Pattern Markers, and Action Markers of their color, plus 2 Player Aid Cards (one for Cubes and one for Patterns).
4. Place 1 random Tile in the Free Placement Space of each Studio.
5. The remaining Tiles go to the Restoration Workshop.
6. Place the 12 Contract Cards next to the board, forming a pile.
7. Choose the first player according to the manual's suggestions (e.g., whoever knows Athos Bulcão).

Game Flow

Each player performs 2 actions per turn, in any order (they can be repeated). After the actions, the player marks their score on the Mural and/or places Pattern Markers on the Contract Cards. The turn passes to the next player clockwise.

Actions and How to Play

Available Actions:

• Acquire 1 Tile: Take a Tile from the Restoration Workshop or the Fundathos Board (moving from outside to inside) and place it in the Free Placement Space of your Studio.
• Place/Protect 1 Tile:
  • Place: Place a Tile from your Studio on the Mural, following the placement and slide rules (if applicable).
  • Protect: Move a Tile from the Free Space to the Protected Space, preventing exchanges.
• Exchange Tile: Exchange a Tile from your Studio (Free or Protected) for one from another player (yours goes to the Restoration Workshop).
• Rotate 1 Tile: Rotate a Cube in your Studio to change its visible face.
• Restore 1 Tile: Correct an incorrect Tile on the Mural, replacing it with one from your Studio (only for wrong patterns).

End of Game and Scoring

The game ends when the last Tile from the Fundathos is acquired. In the final round, each player has 3 actions (2 normal + 1 extra). Scoring:

• Points during the game: 1 point per Tile in connected patterns on the Mural.
• Contract Card Bonuses: 4 points for a 2x2 or 3x3 pattern identical to the card.
• Final Points: Majority on Contract Cards (10 points for 1st, 4 for 2nd, etc.).

The player with the most Academic Prestige Points wins. In case of a tie, tie-breaking criteria include markers on Contract Cards or on the Mural.

Tips for Winning

• Focus on Contract Cards: Prioritize forming 2x2 and 3x3 patterns to earn bonuses and score majority.
• Use the Protected Space: Protect strategic Tiles to prevent exchanges and ensure future combinations.
• Plan your slides: When placing Tiles, position them to push opponent patterns off the Mural.
