In Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra, you take on the role of a skilled artisan, challenged to create the most stunning stained glass windows for the National Palace of Sintra. Get ready for a tactical experience where every choice of glass pane is crucial to complete your windows without wasting valuable materials.
The game maintains the essence of the original Azul but with a fresh and innovative twist. Players select colored glass tiles from factories or the center of the table, strategically adding them to their individual player board. The big innovation here is the double-sided window panels, which offer almost infinite variability in each game, ensuring no two sessions are ever the same. You'll score points at the end of each round, depending on how the pieces were positioned to form your stained glass windows. Extra points are awarded for specific patterns and for completing sets of colors or designs.
A new Color Bonus mechanic is introduced, adding another layer of strategy to your scoring at the end of each round. The game unfolds over six intense rounds, and the artisan who accumulates the most points at the end is crowned the winner. In addition to the engaging gameplay, the game shines with its premium components: translucent stained glass pieces that are a visual delight, an elegant tower to discard unused glass panes, and, of course, the double-sided player boards and window panels that elevate replayability to a new level. It's an invitation to immerse yourself in the beauty and strategy of Sintra's stained glass!

What's the main difference between this Azul and the original Azul?
The main difference lies in the double-sided player boards and window panels, which offer much more variability and strategic decisions. Additionally, there's the new Color Bonus mechanic and stunning translucent components!
Is it a very complex game for beginners?
No! Although it has more layers of strategy than the original, the core rules are quite simple and easy to pick up. The challenge lies in mastering the nuances and new scoring methods.
How many players can play and what's the average duration?
Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra can be played by 2 to 4 players. A game typically lasts between 30 to 45 minutes, perfect for a quick and engaging gaming session.
Are the components really good quality?
Yes, the components are one of the big highlights! The translucent stained glass pieces are beautiful, and the discard tower is an elegant touch that enhances the visual and tactile experience of the game.
Is the replayability high?
Absolutely! The double-sided window panels and the way color bonuses change each round ensure that every game is unique, offering new challenges and strategies to explore.
Is this a game for players who enjoy a lot of player interaction?
Interaction is more indirect, focused on drafting the tiles your opponent wants or leaving them with tiles that penalize them. There are no direct confrontations, but the tension of grabbing the right tile at the right time is very present.
Are there any expansions for this game?
Currently, Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra is a complete standalone game, with no official expansions released. Its high replayability already offers plenty of content!
