Get ready for a card game that blends the excitement of baseball with the strategy of climbing sequences! In Ball Four, each match is divided into "innings," and the goal is to be the first to reach 50 points or survive 9 complete innings. You'll be dealt cards and, on your turn, you'll have to play valid combinations, such as pairs, triples, full houses, and so on. The trick is that, in climbing games, a play can only be beaten by an equal combination of a higher value. If you have nothing to play, you can pass your turn, but then you're out of the current round until it ends.
The big special move is "Ball Four": if the last hand played contains exactly three cards of the same rank, and you hold the fourth card, you can play it face up. If the underlying hand is not beaten, you win the lead and incur a 2-run penalty at the end of the inning. But beware! If the original hand is beaten, Ball Four fails and returns to your hand, at no cost.
The inning ends when a player empties their hand, and they score points for the cards opponents still hold. Each successful Ball Four played during the game costs 2 points to the player who used it. It's a game that tests your luck and your ability to read opponents' hands, with a light sports theme and a daring twist. Perfect for those who enjoy card games with a "twist"!
