About the game
What you do in a play session
If you love expanding the battlefield and facing epic clashes in BattleLore, Epic BattleLore is for you! This expansion supercharges the base game, allowing groups of veteran players to combine multiple boards to create a gigantic battlefield. Think battles on a much grander scale, with more units, more strategy, and, of course, more fun.
The package includes an extra map board, turn markers for up to 4 players (those cool little shields!), alliance tokens, and lore tokens to add that extra spice to your campaigns. And it doesn't stop there: there's a rulebook with 7 epic scenarios, including the Lonrono and Road to Najera adventures. For those who already have Call to Arms, there are tips on how to integrate everything and make the chaos even more organized. Oh, and there's also the Reluctant Allies variant for 4 players, to test cooperation (or the lack thereof!).
With Epic BattleLore, the idea is to take the tactical wargame experience to a grand level. The combination of cards to command your troops, dice rolling to resolve combat, and careful management of your hand of cards remain the heart of the game. The novelty is the scale, which demands even more refined planning and can lead to memorable matches. If you think the original BattleLore is good but wanted something *more*, this expansion delivers exactly that: more map, more scenarios, and more challenge for the strategists out there.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you buy
Do I need the base BattleLore game to play Epic BattleLore?
Yes, absolutely! Epic BattleLore is an expansion and relies entirely on the base BattleLore game to function.
How many players can participate in the epic battles?
The base game is for 2 players, but this expansion adds variants and components for up to 4 players to participate in specific scenarios.
What does 'combining multiple maps' mean?
It means you can join two or more BattleLore boards (from the base game and this expansion) to create a much larger battlefield than usual.
Do battles take longer with this expansion?
Yes, larger-scale battles generally take more time. The estimated playtime is 90 minutes, but it can vary depending on the scenario's complexity and the players.
Is it much more complicated than the original BattleLore?
It increases complexity slightly due to the larger scale and new scenarios, but the core mechanics (cards, dice) are the same. It's more for those who have already mastered the base game.
What new components come in the box?
It includes an additional map board, turn markers for 4 players, alliance tokens, lore tokens, and a rulebook with 7 new epic scenarios.
