About the game
What you do in a play session
Ever dreamed of building the art gallery of your dreams, only to find out half your collection is fake? That's the exact drama in Belratti! Inspired by the real-life story of the German forger Beltracchi, this game puts the group in a challenge of perception and synergy. Here, no one plays against each other; everyone teams up to beat the game, but the path is filled with visual traps.
The dynamic is simple yet intriguing: players are split between Buyers and Painters. The game presents specific themes, and the Buyers decide how many artworks they want to acquire to follow current trends. The Painters then scour their hands to offer the cards that best fit these themes. The catch? The sneaky Belratti steps in and mixes some forgeries into the pile.
Once everything is shuffled and revealed, the Buyers need a keen eye. They must select the genuine works from the Painters and ignore the fake copies. If you're careless and buy too many forgeries, the museum loses its credibility and the game ends in defeat. After each round, roles switch, so those who were buying now have to paint, and vice versa. It's a test of non-verbal communication and interpretation: is what you consider 'modern art' the same thing your friend thinks? If the group's synergy is high, the museum prospers; if not, Belratti walks away laughing after pulling off the heist.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you buy
How long does a game last?
It's very quick! Games last about 25 minutes, making it ideal as an opener or a filler between longer games.
Is it hard to learn?
Not at all! The weight is very low (1.09 on BGG), so you can explain the rules in a few minutes and start playing immediately.
How many people can play?
The game shines with groups of 3 to 7 players. The more people, the more chaotic and fun the art interpretation becomes.
Is the game complex?
No, it's a gateway game. The challenge isn't in the rules, but in trying to 'read the minds' of your teammates.
Who do you recommend this for?
Anyone who enjoys games like Dixit or Just One, where image interpretation and group synergy are the heart of the experience.
