Get ready to roll up your sleeves and build your own metropolis in Big City! In this 1999 game, you and your friends (2 to 5, to be exact) will become urban architects, transforming an empty board into a vibrant city. The key here is to manage the cards in your hand well, as they are the key to placing buildings of different sizes on the map. Each construction earns points, but the real magic happens when you consider the neighbors: adjacent constructions can generate incredible bonuses, turning a simple commercial building into a high-yield point. Big City's standout feature is the City Hall piece. Someone needs to be the good Samaritan and place it on the board first, without gaining anything from it, so that the city can truly start to grow. Without City Hall, you can only build basic residences and shops. After that, the sky (or the building height limit!) is the limit. With charming plastic components and a board that changes each game thanks to its modularity, Big City offers a strategic and satisfying urban building experience. It's a medium-weight game (2.22/5 on BGG), ideal for those who enjoy thinking a bit more about their moves and watching their city flourish brick by brick. If you enjoy tile-placement and city-building games, Big City is a sure bet!
