Market day is here and you’re ready to set up the smartest stall in the square. In Fresh Fish each player becomes an up‑and‑coming trader trying to claim the best spots for their market stalls, as close as possible to the delivery trucks. The catch is that direct delivery isn’t allowed – you must leave at least one path space between a stall and its truck, turning the board into a maze of routes. You’ll block opponents’ shortest paths with your own stalls and with neutral flea‑market tables that appear on the board.

The scramble for prime locations starts with an auction for stall tiles. Each round players bid for the most advantageous pieces; a low bid might land you in a far‑away corner, lengthening the paths you’ll have to build later. At game end you add up the total number of spaces in all paths linking your stalls to the trucks, then subtract the coins you saved during the auctions. The lowest final value wins, proving your goods are the freshest.

With simple components – stall tiles, truck markers, coins and a grid board – the game runs about 45 minutes for 2‑5 players. The blend of auction and tile placement forces you to weigh immediate cost against future route efficiency.
