Game Objective

Preparation (Setup)
To add the Gods of Asgard to your game of Blood Rage, follow these steps:
- At the end of the base game's Setup phase, shuffle the six god cards.
- Draw two god cards randomly. Only two gods are used in each game; return the remaining gods to the game box.
- Place the two chosen god cards near the board, where all players can see them.
- Take the miniatures of the gods corresponding to the cards.
- To determine the starting province of each god, take all Ragnarök tokens that were returned to the game box (those not on the board or the Age Track) and shuffle them.
- Draw one Ragnarök token for each of the two gods.
- Place the god miniature in the province indicated on the Ragnarök token.
- Return the Ragnarök tokens to the box with no further effect.
God miniatures never occupy villages; they are simply placed within the indicated province area.
Example: Thor and Frigga were randomly selected for this game. Drawing the remaining Ragnarök tokens, it was determined that Thor starts in Myrklor and Frigga starts in Angerboða.
Game Flow
The game progresses in Ages, and each Age has a sequence of phases. The phases listed for each Age are:
- Ragnarök
- Raid
- Combat
- Throne
- Ragnarök
Relocating the Gods
At the beginning of the Second Age and the Third Age, both god miniatures must be placed in new random provinces. To do this, follow the same procedure as during game Setup: draw one Ragnarök token for each of the gods and place their miniatures in the indicated provinces.
Actions and How to Play
The Power of the Gods
The god cards list the effect that each god applies in the province they occupy. These effects modify the rules of battles in that province in various ways. The effects are always active as long as a god miniature is in that province, and their rules override all other rules. A god's power only affects its own province and its fjord, nothing else.
The gods mentioned are: Thor (The Victorious), Odin (The Allfather), Tyr (The Lord of Battles), Frigga (The Protective Mother), Loki (The Trickster), Heimdall (The Guardian).
Moving the Gods
The gods can be moved from province to province. After a player performs a Pillage action in a province containing a god, whether successful or not, that player must move the god miniature to a different province. The player who performed the Pillage moves the god miniature to any province of their choice, following these restrictions:
- The province cannot contain a god miniature.
- The province cannot have been pillaged.
- The province cannot have been destroyed by Ragnarök.
- If no province is suitable, the god miniature is not moved.
The god's power now affects the new province it occupies.
Example: The Raven player attempts to pillage Utgard, but fails. They must then move Thor from Utgard to a different province. The only suitable province is Yggdrasil, as all others have already been destroyed, pillaged, or contain a god.
