About the game

What you do in a play session

Bull in a China Shop: Action Cards builds on the original game by replacing the Pass action with a set of action cards that can shift the game’s direction in an instant. The expansion includes 14 cards in six different types—ranging from discarding a bull or a Chinese vase, swapping a vase, replacing all bulls, or forcing the next player to play under altered rules. Each player starts with two secret cards and, on their turn, can buy a vase, take a bull, or play an action card. When the discard pile runs out, the deck is reshuffled. Players who lose more than one vase receive a money card and, if available, an extra action card. These new options heighten player interaction and require you to plan how to protect your vases or sabotage others. The game remains light and quick—30 minutes for 3 to 5 players—but gains layers of strategy that appeal to those who enjoy card games that mix luck and tactics. Ideal for fans of collecting, competing, and improvising in short games, the expansion keeps the original’s humorous and chaotic spirit while adding a fresh twist worth trying.
