CardRunners is a 55‑card game for two players, where each takes on the role of a cyberpunk trying to crack the access codes of five buildings before the system crashes or the police arrive. The board is a 3x3 grid of buildings, each with a specific set of codes. Meanwhile, cards are played, folded, and swapped from a central row, and players must assemble the correct combinations to infiltrate each building. It’s a blend of hand management, recipe fulfillment, and corporate sabotage, all in a fast 30‑to‑45‑minute pace. When a player assembles the right combination, they immediately take down the building. After five buildings are infiltrated, the team wins. If the police arrive first, the game ends in defeat. The game has a moderate learning curve, as players must remember the combination rules and use their hand strategically. The futuristic art, cyberpunk theme, and cooperative mechanics make the experience immersive and fun for those who enjoy team challenges and dystopian settings.
