About the game
What you do in a play session
If you are a Carson City veteran looking to spice up your sessions, this mini-expansion is a neat addition worth checking out. Originally released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Quined Games, the 'The Lawyer / Editor' card introduces two distinct personalities, each offering a unique and fun playstyle. On one side, you have the Lawyer, a master of real estate acquisitions. This character allows you to instantly purchase any unowned parcel at the standard price, with a killer perk: no one can contest your purchase. If an opponent tries to challenge you, their cowboy is removed from the action before the duel even begins. It is an excellent tool for securing strategic spots without the usual hassle, though you are capped at $60 in cash. On the flip side, we have the Editor, who focuses on turning your financial success into victory points. At the end of the income phase, you earn points based on how much your buildings produced. The scoring scales as rounds progress, forcing you to plan your growth carefully to maximize those points. The cash limit here is $40, making it a balancing act between investment and scoring. It is worth noting that while this card was a rare giveaway at events and Kickstarter campaigns in the past, it is now included in the Carson City Big Box, so double-check your collection before hunting for it. It is a simple addition, but it adds an interesting layer of strategy for those who have already mastered the base game and want to vary their urban expansion tactics in the Wild West.
