Brace your stomach, because The Graft expansion is here to make Cloudspire much weirder and more strategic! If you thought the base game was intense, this faction takes it to a whole new level of oddity. The big standout is the 'grafting' mechanic: most of The Graft's minions are mutated versions of units from other factions that have been absorbed into this living mass of tissue. This creates deadly ability combinations you've never seen before, letting you use what you know about your former allies against them! Additionally, there's a unique promotion system: when a minion is defeated, it can be absorbed by nearby spires and return later, even more mutated and powerful.
Leading this organic mass is Nucleus, a hero that acts as both the brain of the operation and a mobile fortress. As you upgrade your structures, Nucleus becomes an unstoppable force on the battlefield. But don't be fooled; it can be just as much of a target as it is a destroyer. To add to the chaos, we have parasitic worms. These semi-autonomous little creatures can embed themselves in enemy heroes and villains, draining HP every time they attempt an attack. It's an insane attrition strategy!
With two unit types—worms and grafted units—and heroes like the mighty Fury Worm and the former monarch Graft King Nestor, this expansion offers massive tactical depth. It's a faction for those who love playing aggressively, using the battlefield itself and enemy units as fuel for their own evolution. If you enjoy constant progression mechanics and don't mind a slightly grotesque aesthetic, The Graft is your new favorite toy.
