If you've already mastered the trade routes of the Roman Empire in Concordia and are craving more challenges, get ready: Aegyptus / Creta has arrived to shake up your board! This expansion brings two brand-new maps, each with its own peculiarities that will make you think twice before each move. In Aegyptus, the legendary Nile River isn't just for show; it provides extra food with each annual flood, a bonus that can turn the game around. And for those who enjoy a little extra luxury, you can trade frankincense and gold for cash and victory points at the end of the game. Over in Creta, the map is more compact, featuring only twenty cities spread across nine provinces – one of which is a standalone case with a single city. This space limitation promises tighter and more competitive games, especially when played with four or five players. Both maps are designed to offer a slightly longer gameplay experience but physically take up less space than previous expansions, a relief for smaller tables. Oh, and the personality card display is now separate from the main map, with an extra side that introduces additional costs, adding another strategic layer. It's the dose of novelty your Concordia needed!

Do I need the base game Concordia to play Aegyptus / Creta?
Yes, absolutely! This expansion adds new maps and challenges, but you need the base game Concordia to play.
How many players does this expansion support?
Just like the base game, the Aegyptus and Creta maps can be played with 2 to 5 players. The competition gets fiercer with 4 or 5 players, especially on the Creta map.
What's the main difference between the two maps?
The Aegyptus map features the Nile River, offering food bonuses and trade opportunities with frankincense and gold. The Creta map is more compact, with fewer cities and provinces, forcing a more intense competition for space.
Does the game's complexity increase significantly with this expansion?
Concordia's core complexity remains. The new rules and mechanics for the maps are additions that integrate well, offering new strategic challenges without overwhelming experienced players.
Are the maps very large? Will they fit on any table?
The maps are slightly longer in terms of gameplay but are physically smaller than maps from previous expansions, which is great for those with smaller tables.
Does this expansion add many new rules?
It introduces some specific rules for each map, like the Nile bonus in Aegyptus and the more restricted layout in Creta. There's also a new personality card display with additional costs.
Who do you recommend this expansion for?
We highly recommend it for those who have played Concordia many times and want to vary their strategies, or for those who enjoy maps with slightly different dynamics than the base map.
