Game Objective

In Conquest: Mystic Invasions, players take on the roles of powerful sorcerers who recruit mages, conquer mystic towers, and summon monsters to defend their kingdoms. The game takes place over several rounds, where players perform actions such as recruiting, developing towers, conquering territories, and attacking opponents. The goal is to accumulate the most victory points by the end of the game, which are earned through towers, upgrades, walls, defeated monsters, and other criteria.

Setup

To set up the game:

  • Separate the components according to the number of players (refer to the table in the manual for adjustments).
  • Place the towers in the center of the table, organized by color and ordered from highest to lowest defense value.
  • Shuffle the mage and monster cards into a single deck and deal 4 cards to each player.
  • Keep the trophy markers accessible and place the era marker near the deck, with the 1st Era face up.
  • The starting player will be the one who most recently "built a wall" or can be decided among the players.

Refer to the manual for details on this section.

Game Flow

The game is played in turns, following a clockwise order starting with the first player. Each player, on their turn, can perform 2 actions from the following:

  • Recruit
  • Develop a tower
  • Conquer a free tower
  • Attack an opponent's kingdom
  • Defeat a monster

Additionally, players can summon monsters freely, as long as they have towers to defend them. The game ends when the last card of the second purchase deck is drawn.

Actions and How to Play

Recruit

When recruiting, the player draws 2 cards from the purchase deck. If the deck runs out, shuffle the discard pile to form a new one. When the first deck runs out, flip the era marker to the 2nd Era.

Develop a Tower

The player can place a mage card behind a tower to:

  • Develop a wall (increases the tower's defense).
  • Develop an upgrade (activates special abilities).

Each tower can only have one wall and one upgrade.

Conquer a Free Tower

To conquer a free tower, the player must discard mages whose total combat value equals or exceeds the tower's defense.

Attack an Opponent's Kingdom

The attacker places up to 3 cards face down, and the defender decides whether to retreat or fight. If they fight, both players add their combat/defense values to determine the winner.

Defeat a Monster

To defeat a monster, the player must discard mages with a combat value equal to or greater than the monster's defense. The defeated monster grants points at the end of the game.

Summon a Monster (Free Action)

The player can place a monster from their hand above a tower to defend it. The tower can only be attacked after the monster is defeated.

End of Game and Scoring

The game ends when the last card of the second purchase deck is drawn. Players score points from:

  • Towers
  • Upgrades
  • Walls
  • Connected power trails
  • Defeated monsters
  • Trophy markers
  • Cards in hand (1 point for every 2 cards).

The player with the most points wins. In case of a tie, the tiebreaker is determined by power trails and then by cards in hand.

Tips to Win

  • Connect power trails at the end of the game to earn extra points.
  • Summon monsters to protect your towers and make it harder for opponents to attack.
  • Use strategic upgrades that complement your playstyle (attack, defense, or scoring).
