Wizard is that classic card game that blends tricks, bluffing, and a lot of hand‑management strategy. It starts with a 60‑card deck: the standard 52 plus four Wizards (the highest) and four Jesters (the lowest). Each round the number of cards in hand grows—from one in the first round to all of them in the last—while the round’s trump is set by the top card of the undealt pile. A Jester means no trump; a Wizard lets the dealer choose a suit; a normal suit card sets that suit as trump. After dealing, each player bids how many tricks they expect to win. Play follows ordinary trick‑taking rules, but you can play a Wizard or Jester at any time, even when you can’t follow suit. The trick winner is either the first Wizard played, or if none, the highest trump, or if none, the highest card of the led suit. At the end, matching your bid nets 20 points plus 10 per trick; missing it costs 10 per trick off. A popular variant forbids the total bids from equaling the round number, forcing at least one player to miss. Wizard mixes the thrill of predicting outcomes with the tension of bluffing, and its fast pace (about 45 minutes) makes it perfect for 3‑to‑6 players who enjoy card games with a fantasy twist and competitive edge.
