About the game
What you do in a play session
Sluff Off! is a fast, light‑hearted card game that takes the classic trick‑taking formula and adds a dash of betting and prediction. The deck consists of cards numbered 1‑15 in five suits, with blue always serving as trump. When a player leads a suit, you must follow it if you can; otherwise you may discard or play a trump. Before each hand, players take colored chips that represent how many tricks they intend to win in each colour. For every trick you actually win, you return a chip of that colour. If you win a trick in a colour you didn’t have a chip for, you must take a black chip worth –3 points. Any coloured chips left at the end cost –2 points each, and white chips (wildcards you receive when someone steals your coloured chip during bidding) cost –4 points each. There’s also the Sluffer role, which doesn’t bid; the Sluffer takes four black chips worth –1 point each. When players exceed their prediction, they take black chips from the Sluffer; if the Sluffer hands out enough black chips, his own score can end up at zero. The game blends hand management, betting/bluffing, and predictive bidding into 30‑minute rounds for 3‑5 players. Its easy‑to‑learn rules and quick hands make it perfect for casual get‑togethers, while the need to hit your predictions adds a strategic bite that will please trick‑taking and bluff fans alike.
