About the game

What you do in a play session

Container: The Second Shipment arrives as the first official expansion for the acclaimed Container, offering four modules that can be freely mixed. The first, Luxury Containers, introduces gold containers worth double and can be created from two ordinary containers as a pre‑turn action, letting players forge "treasures" to sell at premium prices. The second module, Factory and Warehouse, adds restriction cards that kick in as you build more factories or warehouses, forcing you to lower prices – a simple way to model economies of scale. In Financiers, loan negotiations move from the bank to direct player‑to‑player deals; a borrower can accept or decline, but declining means missing out on any borrowing that turn, while lenders can sweeten offers with better interest or larger sums. Finally, the Monopoly module lets a player own multiple factories of the same color, opening the path to dominate production of a container type. All options retain the core mechanics of auction, commodity speculation, pick‑up‑and‑deliver, and stock holding, but deepen strategic depth and player interaction. The game remains accessible (weight 3.3/5) for 3‑5 players, with about 90‑minute sessions, and provides even more bargaining and logistical planning opportunities for fans of the base game. In short, the expansion adds layers of complexity without overwhelming, making each play more dynamic and competitive.
