In Corsair Leader, you take command of a squadron of U.S. Marine F4U Corsairs, diving headfirst into the intense aerial battles of the Pacific during World War II. Based on the acclaimed Hornet Leader II system, this solo game introduces some interesting new features for fans of the series. The two available campaigns place you in the heart of the Solomon Islands Campaign, which took place between late 1942 and early 1944, a crucial period of the conflict.

Your mission is to manage your squadron, which can be comprised not only of the iconic Corsairs but also other aircraft like Dauntlesses, B-25s, and B-17s. Each aircraft type has its quirks, with advantages and disadvantages that you'll need to master to succeed. For instance, B-17s are flying tanks, carrying lots of bombs and being hard to shoot down, but they're not very effective against naval targets or smaller land targets. Tactical depth is one of the highlights: each turn, you decide each aircraft's stance. Want an attack bonus? Go 'Offensive,' but be prepared to be an easier target. Prefer to protect yourself? 'Defensive' penalizes your attack but makes you harder to hit. There are also options for 'Slow' pilots to rush their attacks with a penalty, or 'Fast' pilots to wait for a bonus. The game was released both as a PDF for 'Print & Play' enthusiasts and as a digital version for the Vassal platform, ensuring accessibility for all types of solo players.
