About the game
What you do in a play session
Let's get straight to the point: Crypt is a small-box card and dice game that fits in your pocket and transports you to a treasure-hunting vibe in catacombs. The idea is simple: you send your 'servants' (dice) to grab the best treasures, but there's a catch! When choosing the die's value for each servant, you decide how much they'll exert themselves. A high value can ward off opponents, but it increases the risk of them becoming exhausted after the roll. If the die roll is less than the value you chose, the servant returns to your hand, and you've lost the turn (and the servant for a while).
But don't worry, there's more! You can even try to push out your opponents' servants by placing your dice with values that exceed their effort. It's a 'push your luck' game with a strategic twist. Besides collecting treasures, you can pawn them off to collectors who give you extra coins and special abilities. In the end, whoever assembles the most valuable collection claims the glory (and the points!).
With easy-to-learn rules and quick games (around 20-35 minutes), Crypt is a great choice for those who want something light but with interesting decisions. It plays well with 1 to 4 players, and the variable setup ensures each game is a new challenge. If you enjoy set collection games with a touch of luck and interaction, Crypt might just win you over.
