Imagine the scene: you and your crew have finally seized 'Skelit's Revenge', the most feared ship on the high seas. The catch? The ship is engulfed in flames, and Captain Fromm's skeleton crew isn't going down without a fight. Now, the goal is simple yet perilous: board the ship, loot the massive treasure, and get out alive before the whole thing blows up.
Dead Men Tell No Tales is a cooperative experience where coordination is key. You use an Action Point system to decide your moves, but with a brilliant twist: you can pass your actions to your teammates. This means if your friend is the best person to put out the fire but is out of actions, you can lend them yours to ensure the mission succeeds.
The board is built dynamically as you explore, ensuring that no two games are ever the same. As you scour the corridors, you'll face guards, traps, and, of course, the rapidly spreading inferno. Beyond the enemies, you must manage your crew's fatigue—because fighting skeletons in a burning ship is exhausting work.
Combat is fast-paced and resolved with dice rolls, keeping the tension high and the game moving. You'll need the right equipment, a solid strategy, and a bit of luck to avoid becoming just another pile of bones at the bottom of the ocean. Do you and your crew have what it takes to make off with the gold and live to tell the tale, or will you go down with the ship?

Is the game too complex?
Not at all! Combat is simple (dice rolls) and the action point mechanic is intuitive. Perfect for those who want strategy without a 50-page rulebook.
How many players can play?
From 2 to 5 players. The more the merrier (and the more chaotic the coordination gets!).
How long does a game take?
Usually between 60 and 75 minutes, depending on how fast you find the treasure (or how fast the fire consumes everything).
Is it similar to other games?
Yes! If you enjoy Pandemic, Forbidden Island, or Flash Point, you'll love the 'race against time' and cooperative dynamics.
Is there a language barrier?
It depends on the version, but there is moderate language dependency. Some players use translation sheets for the cards.
