If you love games that fit in your pocket but deliver a breathtaking experience, Death Valley: Highs & Lows is your next obsession. As the second entry in the Death Valley series, this title features 18 cards that can be played standalone or mixed with the first game to create a completely new and unpredictable deck every time you play. It's the kind of game you play on a bus or while waiting for coffee without sacrificing strategic depth.
The gameplay is a tableau-building experience for 1-2 players. You take on the role of a traveler striving to survive and thrive in the desert. Your goal? Assemble the best possible combination of cards in two areas: your 'Journey' and your 'Scrapbook'. Each turn, you face a classic dilemma: do you add a new card to your Journey to chase more points, or do you choose to 'Rest' to move what you've already gathered into your Scrapbook?
But watch out! The desert is unforgiving. If you push your luck too far and accumulate too many Hazards of the same type in your Journey, disaster strikes, and you'll have to shuffle everything you've built in that row. It's the essence of 'Push Your Luck' mechanics. At the end, stars boost your score, while skulls act as a cold reality check, stripping points away. If you enjoy managing risks and building smart patterns with minimal components, pack your bags—this journey is going to be intense!
