About the game
What you do in a play session
Decorum: Movin’ Out arrives as the second instalment of the Decorum line, thrusting you and your partner into the drama of moving house. Instead of merely arranging the interior, the challenge now is to decide what fits in the van, how to pack fragile items, and which objects stay behind. The expansion offers 20 unique scenarios, each introducing a mix of moving boxes, bubble‑wrap, different vehicles and tight space constraints that spark heated discussions and creative solutions.
The core mechanic revolves around communication limits: you can’t just say everything you think, so you must rely on gestures, key words, or even silence to persuade your counterpart. This blends with asymmetric roles – each player holds information the other lacks – and deduction, as you try to figure out what items matter most to your partner. Negotiation is constant, and the game is cooperative: the goal is to move out without the van exploding or valuable pieces shattering.
Components include miniature vehicles, item cards (lamps, antiques, boxes), packing tokens and a board representing the van’s interior space. Each scenario has different objectives – sometimes maximizing transported value, other times minimizing breakage – providing plenty of replay value. Playtime averages 30‑45 minutes, perfect for a relaxed evening. While designed for two players, the limited‑communication experience can be fun with larger groups using rotation rules. In short, Movin’ Out mixes humor, strategy and a dash of domestic chaos, ideal for couples or friends who love cooperative puzzles with plenty of (or very little) chatter.
