About the game
What you do in a play session
In Demonolatry, you and your opponent step into the shoes of demon worshippers in a tense duel where sanity is your most precious resource. The game places you on a dangerous tightrope: to shatter your opponent's mind, you must summon powerful entities, but each summoning comes at a steep price, costing not just items but pieces of your own mental energy. If you give in too much to the demons' power or fall victim to your opponent's relentless attacks, you will lose your sanity and, ultimately, the game.
The gameplay revolves around a selection of three demons available on the field. Each turn, you draw an item card that can be used or sacrificed to perform summonings. The choice is strategic: each demon offers unique abilities and victory points, but the summoning cost varies significantly. The challenge lies in balancing the desire to score with the necessity of keeping your mental strength intact. It is a fast-paced game, focused on direct confrontation and reading what the other player is planning with their limited resources.
As a two-player duel, interaction is constant and aggressive. You need to monitor not only your own 'heart' (mental energy) but also your opponent's hand. The game shines through its mechanical simplicity but demands tough decisions every round. Is it worth risking everything for that demon that guarantees victory, or is it better to play defensively and wait for your opponent to destroy themselves? Demonolatry offers an intense and compact experience, perfect for those who enjoy card games that get straight to the point and put players in a direct psychological clash from the very first minute.
