About the game

What you do in a play session

Prepare to face a haunted manor in 'Manor of Ravens', a sinister expansion for Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition). Legend has it that in the foothills near Greyhaven lies a forgotten mansion, the residence of the late mage Ithyndrus. Valuable treasures and artifacts are hidden within, but the ravens guarding the place don't seem enough to deter the curious and looters. Now, a new guardian awakens, attracting dark forces that gather to aid it. If no one intervenes, its power will only grow, without limits. This expansion invites you on an adventure where you and your heroes must brave this haunted mansion and confront the guardian lurking inside. The Overlord gains an arsenal of new tools: two new Overlord card classes, brand-new monsters, and deadly relics to equip their creatures. They also gain their first servant, an summonable entity reminiscent of the heroes' familiars. On the heroes' side, hope arrives with two new playable characters and new classes for Warriors and Scouts. A new lieutenant, Skarn, a magical construct made from parts of the mansion itself with limitless potential, emerges to complicate everyone's lives. If Skarn is not stopped, he could become a global threat. The fate of Terrinoth rests in the heroes' hands!

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

6 questions
Do I need the Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition) base game to play this expansion?
Yes, absolutely! 'Manor of Ravens' is an expansion and adds content to the base game, so you need it to play.
How many players can participate?
Just like the base game, this expansion is for 2 to 5 players.
Is the game cooperative or competitive?
It's an asymmetric game: one player controls the Overlord (the villain), and the other players control the heroes in a cooperative game against them.
Is the campaign long?
This expansion offers a mini-campaign, so it's shorter than the base game's main campaign, but quite intense!
Do I need to know English to play?
Yes, the game has a considerable language dependency, with a lot of text on the cards and in the scenario book. It's recommended to have a good understanding of English or use translations.
What new content does this expansion add?
It adds two new heroes, new classes for existing heroes, new cards and monsters for the Overlord, and a new campaign set in a haunted mansion as the main scenario.
