About the game
Grab your pen, paper, and dice, because your dog has been kidnapped! In Dice in the Darkness, you embark on an epic, episodic roll-and-write adventure to rescue your loyal companion from the clutches of a shadowy creature. Each week, a new dungeon room is revealed in an online event, totaling ten weeks of pure fun and challenge. Choose from three characters – Wizard, Warrior, or Rogue – and guide them through this ten-level dungeon. Each room is a unique roll-and-write experience where you'll hone your abilities and unlock new skills to face the dangers ahead. The game is completely free and designed for community play, following the weekly reveals. It's a race against time (and darkness!) to save your best friend. The adventure requires a bit of translation, but the reward is a unique and engaging experience, perfect for those who enjoy "print and play" challenges and aren't afraid to draw some lines and roll some dice to save the day. Can you overcome all the obstacles and bring your puppy home? The fate is in your hands!

Frequently Asked Questions
How many people can play Dice in the Darkness?
The game is primarily designed for one player (solo), but the episodic nature and free availability might allow groups to follow along together, each with their own copy.
What is the average playtime per session?
Each room is a one-page experience, so a session for one room should be quite quick, around 20-30 minutes. Since the adventure is episodic, you play one room at a time.
Do I need to print the entire game at once?
No! The game is released weekly. You print the room corresponding to each week, which makes the experience more dynamic and cost-effective.
Is the game really free?
Yes! Dice in the Darkness is a free "print and play" game released by the designer. You only need to cover printing costs and have your own dice.
How difficult is it to translate the components?
Ludopedia indicates 'Moderate Language Dependency.' This usually involves translating a few cards or a guide sheet, which is common for PnP games.
What kind of player would enjoy this game the most?
If you like solo games, "print and play" titles, roll-and-write mechanics, and a narrative that unfolds over time, you'll love it!
