Objective of the Game
The objective of the game is to earn victory points by placing dinosaurs, including Plesiosaurs, in your Zoo and on your Marina board. Players aim to strategically move their Plesiosaurs along the River to maximize their end-game scoring.
Preparation (Setup)
- Choose one side for the game; all players must use the same side.
- Add 2 Plesiosaurs per player to the draw bag, in addition to the usual dinosaurs. For a two-player game, put 8 Plesiosaurs in the bag.
- Each player gets a Marina board and places it below their Zoo board.
- If playing with the Aerial Show expansion, perform its setup first, then the setup for Marina.
Fluxo do Jogo
In a standard game, each player draws and places 7 dinosaurs per round.
For a two-player game with the Marina expansion:
- During the first two rounds, each player draws 8 dinosaurs and places 4 in their Zoo.
- In the following two rounds, each player draws 6 dinosaurs and places 3 in their Zoo.
Each player therefore places a total of 14 dinosaurs in a two-player game.
Ações e Como Jogar
Playing Plesiosaurs
- When a player decides to place a Plesiosaur, it must be placed in the River on their Zoo board.
- Plesiosaurs can always be placed, regardless of the side rolled with the placement die.
Moving Plesiosaurs
- Once a Plesiosaur is in the River on the Zoo board, it can move onto the Marina board.
- The Marina board consists of several sections of River separated by Bridges.
- When a player places a dinosaur shown on a Bridge in their Zoo, their Plesiosaurs directly in front of that Bridge can cross under the Bridge.
- Only Plesiosaurs can move along the River.
- Several Plesiosaurs may be moved at the same time if they are on the same segment of the River.
- Players are never required to make their Plesiosaurs cross under Bridges.
- One side of the Marina board has a fork in the river after the first Bridge. Players may keep their Plesiosaurs at the fork until they can send them in the direction they prefer.
- Example: If a player puts a T. Rex in their Zoo, they can move their two Plesiosaurs to the next segment of the River.
Fim de Jogo e Pontuação
At the end of the game, each Plesiosaur provides victory points based on its position in the River.
Example: A player earns 9 victory points (2+2+5) for three Plesiosaurs on their Marina board. A Plesiosaur that stayed on the Zoo board brings in 1 victory point, just like any other dinosaur placed in the River.
