About the game

What you do in a play session

Draftosaurus: Marina expands your Jurassic park by adding a new river zone and, of course, a fresh species to collect: the plesiosaurs. Each player gets a double‑sided board that attaches to their existing park, creating a waterway where only these dino‑meeples can be placed. At the end of the game, players with plesiosaurs further down the river score extra points. But advancing them isn’t just about the first placement; you must unlock dams by placing specific other species in your park, adding a layer of set‑collection strategy. The familiar Draftosaurus mechanics—closed drafting, dice rolling, set collection, and simultaneous action selection—remain, now spiced up by the decision of which dinosaurs will clear the path for your plesiosaur. Playtime stays brisk at 15‑20 minutes for 2‑5 players, preserving the base game’s light feel. With a BGG weight of 1.45, Marina is easy to learn and perfect for quick sessions that still crave a bit more thematic depth. High‑quality components include bright new dino‑meeples that pop in the river. In short, Marina adds an aquatic twist to Draftosaurus without overcomplicating, offering extra choices and scoring for fans who love fine‑tuning their prehistoric park.
