About the game

What you do in a play session

Northvale brings the coolest and most epic expansion to Dragons of Etchinstone, with 18 cards that take players on a winter and betrayal journey. The setting stretches from the Severed Seaboard, where the snow cuts the breath, to the Whispering Fields, where shadows hide deadly secrets, culminating in Northvale's Ice Mountains, where the Elementals guard ancient powers. Each player controls one of the four powerful Ether Mages, representing the Red, Blue, Gray, and Yellow guilds, and must navigate dangerous terrains, gather resources, build their deck, and face terrifying bosses. The Deck, Bag, and Pool Building mechanic lets you add adventure cards to your pool as you progress, while Hand Management requires tactical decisions on which cards to use each phase. The game keeps the solo simplicity but introduces new strategic challenges that require patience and planning. The playtime remains short, between 20 to 30 minutes, ideal for quick sessions or for those starting to explore the Valorfall universe. Though designed for 1 player, the expansion can be incorporated into multiplayer games, adding more players to the base game. The Print & Play production facilitates distribution and allows fans to create their own copies. In short, Northvale is the perfect expansion for those who love deck building, winter adventure, and want to test their skills against new bosses.
