Step by step

Objective of the Game

In Dune: Imperium – Bloodlines, players compete for influence and power in the universe of Dune. The goal is to earn Victory Points (VP) through strategic alliances, combat, and resource management. The game ends when a player reaches 10 VP, or when the Conflict Deck is exhausted. The player with the most VP at the end wins.

Preparation (Setup)

Base Setup Modifications

  • Select 7 Sardaukar Commanders (either plastic or wood) and place five on these board spaces: Sardaukar, Dutiful Service, Deliver Supplies, High Council, and Gather Support. In a 4-player game, place a sixth on Assembly Hall.
  • Shuffle the 14 Sardaukar Commander Skills and deal four face-up near the board.
  • Add the new Conflict cards to the existing deck, maintaining a 10-card deck structure (1 Conflict I, 5 Conflict II, 4 Conflict III).
  • Shuffle the new Intrigue and Imperium cards into their respective decks.
  • Mix the new Leaders with existing ones; players may choose any combination.

Tech Module Setup (Optional)

  • Place the Ixian Embassy board next to the main board.
  • Shuffle the 18 Tech tiles into three stacks of 6, placing them on the Ixian Embassy spaces. Turn the top tile of each stack face-up.
  • Exclude certain tiles if not using the CHOAM Module or if playing with the original Dune: Imperium.

Flow of the Game

The game progresses through rounds, each consisting of:

  1. Agent Turns: Players take turns sending Agents to board spaces to perform actions.
  2. Reveal Turns: Players reveal their Imperium cards to generate resources or deploy troops.
  3. Conflict Phase: Players resolve combat using deployed troops and Sardaukar Commanders.
  4. Round End: Reset used abilities and prepare for the next round.

Actions and How to Play

Using Sardaukar Commanders

  • When sending an Agent to a space with a Sardaukar Commander, spend 2 Solari to acquire and recruit it.
  • Gain a Sardaukar Commander Skill when acquiring a Commander. Choose from face-up options, replacing it with a new one from the stack.
  • Deploy Sardaukar Commanders like regular troops (2 strength in combat).
  • Once per turn, pay 2 Solari to recruit a Sardaukar Commander from your supply (no new Skill gained).

Tech Module Actions (Optional)

  • Use the Acquire Tech action (via board spaces or card effects) to purchase face-up Tech tiles from the Ixian Embassy.
  • Tech tiles provide one-time or recurring abilities. Some must be flipped face-down after use and reset at the start of the next round.

End of Game and Scoring

The game ends when:

  • A player reaches 10 VP, or
  • The Conflict Deck is exhausted.

Victory Points are earned through:

  • Winning Conflicts.
  • Completing Alliances or contracts.
  • Matching battle icons (including wild icons) during the Endgame.

The player with the most VP wins. Consulte o manual para detalhes sobre esta seção.

Tips for Winning

  • Prioritize Sardaukar Commanders: Their skills and combat strength (2 each) can swing conflicts in your favor.
  • Leverage Tech Tiles: If using the Tech Module, focus on tiles that synergize with your strategy (e.g., combat bonuses or resource generation).
  • Balance Solari and Spice: You’ll need both to recruit Sardaukar Commanders and acquire Tech tiles efficiently.
