About the game
What you do in a play session
Dungeon Foury is a solo dungeon‑crawling adventure that blends the simplicity of roll‑and‑write with the thrill of exploring a map that reshapes itself each time you play. You start at a random square in the dungeon, pick a direction, and roll the dice to reveal what happens on the square you just entered. The result could be finding treasure, encountering a monster, or getting a hint from the Oracle in the center of the cave. To survive, you’ll need shovels, swords, shields, and a dash of luck that only the dice can bring.
The game features four distinct missions, each with a different goal: awaken the Oracle, escape, return via a new path, and so on. When you complete a quest, the map changes, setting up the next phase, making the challenge more complex and the monsters tougher. After each round you can visit the Market to trade resources and spend the treasures you’ve gathered. There are also character sheets with special powers you can pick before you start, and the option to use your Favorite Book to pull a phrase from the Oracle each turn, adding a narrative touch.
Components are lightweight: a set of map cards, resource tokens, six‑sided dice, and a notebook for jotting down actions. All you need to do is print the PDFs, cut, and assemble. The game is perfect for anyone who loves strategic challenges, wants to try something new without spending a lot, and doesn’t mind building a board by hand. If you have just one or two friends, you can play cooperatively, but the core experience is solo, so test your planning and improvisation skills.
