Game Objective
Refer to the manual for details on this section.
Preparation (Setup)
The Bonus Pets, which include Yummy and Skelly, should be shuffled into the pet pile. If desired, you can shuffle them into the top half of the pile to ensure they appear during the game.
Game Flow
Yummy: Mood-shifting
The first colored bar on Yummy's wheel can be any color you wish. Before drawing cards, place a card of any color (that is not a potion) face down in front of you. The rainbow bar is considered that color for the rest of the round – you draw a card of that color when drawing cards and must assign a card of that color to Yummy.
The face-down card cannot be used this round; it must remain on the table. (Therefore, unless you are using a book to give you an extra card, you will have to assign all Need Cards you draw of that color.)
At the end of the round, pick up the face-down card and return it to your hand so you have the correct cards for the next round.
An older Yummy has two rainbow bars. This requires you to choose the colors for two bars by placing two cards face down. (Unless you have a book, you will only have one card of each color in your hand, so these two cards will be of different colors.)
Yummy: Dietary Oscillation
Yummy's food requirement depends on the current round number. In odd-numbered rounds, he only eats meat. In even-numbered rounds, he only eats vegetables. This applies to food tokens, as well as the special effects of Yummy's cage or accessory. Food from the Magic Box works at any time.
Actions and How to Play
Skelly: Potion Addiction
When you draw Skelly, take a Potion Card and add it to your hand (as you do when visiting the hospital).
Skelly: No Sleep
Potions work differently for Skelly. They don't make him sleepy; they make him active.
You can still assign a Potion to replace a Need Card in Phase 3, as usual. And, as usual, you discard a card of that color when evaluating the Potion in Phase 4.
But when you display Skelly in Phase 4, you can treat the potion as if it were a Need Card representing any of the four basic needs (hunger, play, anger, or magic, as represented on Skelly's egg). The Potion Card is treated as a Need Card of the chosen type for the rest of the round. (Its color does not change, so it can still count as "potion color" during the Beauty Pageant display.)
The need you choose does not have to be related to the color of the card you discarded. If you assign multiple Potion Cards to Skelly, you choose one basic need for each. They can be the same or different.
Skelly: No Diet
Skelly cannot eat food (not even frozen food from the Magic Box).
For each hunger need assigned to Skelly (whether from a red or yellow card, or as your choice for a Potion card), place a suffering token on Skelly. His hunger need can never be satisfied. The suffering token represents how sad this makes him.

Tips for Winning
- When dealing with Yummy and his Mood-shifting ability, plan your cards in advance. Remember that the face-down card cannot be used in the current round, which may limit your options if you don't have extra cards.
- For Skelly, use Potion Cards strategically. They can be treated as any of the four basic needs, which offers great flexibility to satisfy display requirements, especially since Skelly cannot satisfy hunger.
